The woman was charged with her brother’s murder after apparently stabbing the victim with a kitchen knife at a party at his home.
Ashley Gray was apparently murdered, and found in his living room in the house in Ferryhill Station, County Durham, just after 22:00 hrs on Friday 14/10/2011.
The 24-year-old man has been been stabbed in the chest. He had been rushed to the Darlington Memorial Hospital by paramedics but sadly died of his injuries. The death of Ashley Gray appears to be a tragic incident, especially as his killer may of been his own sister.
His sister, suspected but not convicted, has been named as Claire Gray, 21, of Coniston Road, Ferryhill, and she has been charged with his murder and will now appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Ten other people, including both men and women aged from 16 to 26 years, were arrested at the house. They have been released without charge.
A blood stained kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, has been recovered from the terraced house on High Street by the police, and is undergoing tests.
